GOVERNMENT-FUNDED LEGAL SERVICES FOR MINORS

DETENTION FACILITIES

The following materials relating to the provision of legal services to detained minors pursuant to the Homeland Security Act and 2008 Trafficking Victims Protection Act were released in 2015 and 2016, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act:

HHS contract with Vera Institute of Justice, July 31, 2009, for provision of legal services to detained minors, (includes statement of work), and subsequent amendments thereto. NB: Page 38 (requiring representation for 140 detained minors contesting removal, but for 100 percent of minors who accept removal or voluntary departure).
